What a weekend! The 4th annual Wallsend Harriers Toby took place 19th - 21st August 2011 and after 172 miles of hard running a proud pack of Wallsend Harriers hit the beach at Tynemouth at around 4pm on the Sunday afternoon. The weekend was simply awesome with too many stories to tell (many...in fact 99%.... unable to be published!) so many experiences (including Steve's Stag 'Do'!!!) to be had and many more friendships made and cemented...... The weekend started in Whitehaven on Friday lunchtime and followed the Reivers Cycle route all the way back to Tynemouth.

With only one small hiccup along the way....a slight detour from the track by Ms Sinclair and Mr Armstrong....everything went like clockwork and a fantastic weekend was had by all. There was some impressive mileages recorded across the weekend...the aforementionned Ms Penny Sinclair and Womens Club Captain Vicky Hindson recording 57 miles across the 3 days and the lovely  Ms Helen (you are so NOT punching above your weight) Todd recording the highest mileage she has ever run in a week over the 3 days of the weekend!  The sun was out and the fun was flowing as the buses weaved across the Cumbrian and Northumberland countryside.

Aside of all the fun the weekend raised loads of cash for some great charities and the local support along the way was fantastic. Huge thanks have to go to Ged, Bill, Simon, Kevin and Vicky for all they did in organising such a fab weekend. Thanks also to all those who joined us at the end and to all the supporters along the route and inTynemouth - your support was great and was just what was needed at the end of a long (172 mile!) weekend.

Finally HUGE thanks also have to go to everyone who took part in the Toby this year - every single person contributed to making this a great weekend - a fantastic bunch of people achieving fantastic things! ...........there are 3 types of people.......you know which of those three types of people you guys are! See you all next year....personally wouldn't miss it for all the tea in China!
