Joining Wallsend Harriers

Pictured (l-r)Barry, Paul and Michael
Joining Wallsend Harriers is really easy. Just come along on a Tuesday or Thursday night for a run - Introduce yourself to someone and they'll help you pick a group to run with (if you want to look out for a familiar face check out the Committee Members in 'Club Contacts') or just look at some of the photos in our picture gallery
We are based at Hadrian Leisure Centre, St Peters Road, Wallsend, NE28 7LQ where changing facilities and showers available. On these club nights, we meet from 6.15pm onwards and commence training at 6.30pm. Have a read of Training with Wallsend for more details
If you are interested in joining Wallsend Harriers, or would like to find out more the you can do one of the following:
- Click here to download an application form or to apply on line
- Contact one of the people listed in ‘Club Contacts’
- Come along on a Tuesday or Thursday night and we can give you a form!
Membership of Wallsend Harriers costs £40 per year payable in March and there is no weekly charge for using Hadrian Leisure changing facilities and showers on club nights. We have different membership costs for junior athletes – i.e. those under-16 or still in full-time education.
Prospective members are always welcome at Wallsend Harriers. We would suggest that anyone considering membership of the club, should come along and simply attend a number of club nights, at no cost, before taking on any commitment to membership.
We currently have an active core of both male and female runners who attend club nights, of all abilities, and ranging in age from 9 to 70!!
We provide opportunities for club members to train on club nights, under the guidance of UK:Athletics-qualified coaches, and to participate in many local competitions – in road races, cross-country & multi-terrain races and in track & field athletics. There is no pressure on members to compete - a number of active members continue to use the club to simply maintain a level of fitness and health.
The club also arranges many social events throughout the year, including a Christmas Party, a Presentation Evening as well as many informal events with members such as birthday celebrations, nights out, weekend away and cycle rides .
