Double D's Round-Up

Firstly, an appeal to all Harriers out there, past and present. I am currently putting together a listing of club members PB’s for 10K, 10 Mile, Half Marathon and Marathon races and would be most grateful for any results you could send me relating to the aforementioned races.
Ideally, if you could also state the race and year of your PB that would be a great help.

A special mention to club members Stacey Davidson and Sarah Cawthorn who took part in this year’s staging of the Humber Bridge Half Marathon race (27th June 2010).
As if the undulating course wasn’t punishment enough for Stacey and Sarah, they also had the misfortune to run in sweltering hot conditions. In spite of this, both achieved fantastic times, with Sarah even managing to give the thumbs up to a race photographer at the 12 mile mark.
From a Half Marathon race we drop down to a 5K run, and the latest Newcastle Parkrun (Saturday 3rd July). Despite the early 9am start, a grand total of 75 entrants turned out for the run, including club members Graham King, Rob Kirtley and myself.
With conditions ideal for running, warm, sunny and just a slight breeze sweeping across the moor, the spirit amongst the runners was positive, and this clearly helped as nearly half the field managed to clock PB’s The stand-out performance came from Blyth athlete, Ash Henderson, clocking an impressive 16m 08s around the difficult course.
This was all the more impressive when I discovered Ash was competing the following day as part of the combined Blyth / Wallsend track team (see below). On a personal level I managed to run a PB of 16m 51s, with Graham and Rob narrowly missing out on PB’s themselves.
