Hill's Speed gives the Blues
Under-15 Adam Hill continued the impressive winning streak of Wallsend's young athletes in the club's Summer Grand Prix with an excellent victory in the fourth race on June 15th.
After two succesive wins, fellow under-15 runner Keiran Drape found himself 'pulled' by the handicapper, leaving the door open for Adam to pull off a comfortable win with a thirty-second margin of victory from runner-up Joanne Holmes.
Twenty-seven runners completed the race - taking the overall number of runners who've taken part to sixty-four - and this June race was notable for the presence of four of the fastest runners at the club, as returning student Tony Carter joined Mark Fenwick, Ken McPherson and Simon Gibbs on the start line.
Language student Carter claimed the honour of fastest time on the night, as all four dipped under 11 minutes for the 2-mile Rising Sun course.
Adam's win moves him to the top of the overall table, although with only four races to count from the seven-race series, the race for the trophy remains wide open.
