Eric Excels in Birmingham!

Wow what a weekend of athletics for Wallsend Harriers as the good news stories just keep on coming...Martin Telford sends this fantastic update on Eric Smart....

Even more medal success was had by Wallsend this weekend in the British Masters Championships in Birmingham. Eric won the silver medal in the 100m running a brilliant time of 12.32. Well done Eric!!

Eric will be flying the flag for Great Britain at the world championships in Sacremento USA from 6th to 17th July - All the best Eric from your friends at Wallsend

So proud of you Eric:

I still remember the "buzz" around the club in 1995,when you first came on the scene.

You did wonders then, not just with your performance,but with your leadership of our sprinting section.

I'm awe-struck that you're still doing it now. It makes me so proud that our chance conversation led you back to where you belong.

I've come over all Cyndy Lauper-like :
"Now ....I can see your true colours
.......... shining through !"

And you keep on recording exceptional performances:
