Even those of us who've been changing nappies instead of running have heard about the next curry night, but for those who haven't, Wallsend's Curry Knight issues this news item...
We are having another curry nite on Saturday April 14th meeting at the Fire Station pub in Whitley Bay at 7.00pm then on to the Romna Tandoori Resturant for 7.30pm.

King Kev writes....
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday night for the next big curry night. We will be meeting in the Fire Station bar in Whitley Bay at 7.00pm and then heading onto Romna's for the curry. Should be another good night - see you all there and good luck to all running in the Signals during the day!
Good things come to those who wait...and you have not had to wait too long as it is back with a bang! King Kev will be hosting another infamous curry 'nite' on either Friday 3rd or Saturday 4th February (most popular date will win so get your preference into wor Kev ASAP!)
Always a great night had by all, hosted by the wild, pyjama wearing, tea drinking (in a china cup) man of running!
Fixtures supremo Ian McDougall is currently rounding up his Green and Gold posse for two of the biggest races of the year.
The first is the super quick Blyth 10k which takes place on Sunday, April 1.
The second is the Blaydon Race which takes place - you'll never believe it - on June 9, and will be followed by a traditional post-race night out (and it's a Saturday this year).
Anyone who wants to take part - and who wouldn't? - just needs to stick their name on the lists on the board at the club and sit back as someone else does all our admin for us.
Another brill race in April - the North Tyneside 10k - doesn't have a club entry but there's a load of forms at the club for those interested. COME ON WALLSEND!

Party Games Galore with MC O'Gara!
A fantastic night was had by all last night at the Annual Presentation Night and Christmas Party. The cups really were running over as the good times rolled! A huge thanks must go to Bill Todd our esteemed Club Secretary who put in hours of work to collate lists of runners and races over the last year, Alex Richardson (our simply brilliant treasurer) who organised all the cups/awards/trophies/raffle and finally to the MC himself Steve O'Gara (and his better half Donna) who put in yet another energetic performance hosting the evening and creating a fantastic photographic review of the year.
Particular congratulations must go to Danielle Hodgkinson who was named as Wallsend Athlete of the Year 2012 and to Kevin Payne who was named as Wallsend Club Member of the Year 2012. Finally well done and a HUGE thank you to everyone who has raced, trained, supported and been a part of Wallsend Harriers this year - Thanks to all members for coming along last night and enjoying themselves....it was great to see how much had been achieved by all runners at all levels in 2011...what will 2012 hold?! !
