It was another big turnout for the green and gold at last night's Morpeth 10k as we had 35 runners involved in the race, which also incorporated the North Eastern 10k Championships. 6 Comments Danielle Hodgkinson stole the show at last night's Sunderland 5k, adding the North Eastern 5k title to her long list of achievements. It was also the 5th race in our Summer Road Race Grand Prix competition and with 4 runners gaining maximum points the overall lead changes hands yet again. Elswick Harriers hosted the popular Newburn River Run last night, which incorporated the 3rd race of our Summer Road Race Grand Prix series. We came away with 4 prizes, plenty of good runs and a good night was had by all. Coporal Hodgkinson is at it again! Danielle Hodgkinson added yet more titles to her ever expanding collection when she won the 800m/1500m double at the recent British Army Track & Field Championships. Using the weekend's track and field meeting as part of her warm up, Dan ran a PB of 2.13 in the 800m then barely an hour later she added the 1500m title in a time of 4.37, just 3 seconds short of her best ever time. Danielle has hit a rich vein of form and she will go into next week's Blaydon Race full of confidence. Well done from Dan, we are all very proud of you! Results update: Ladies were second team! Loads of photos here from hopalong Hill and hot mama James. It was a cracking Easter Sunday morning for running today and the Green and Gold posse turned out in force for the North Tyneside 10k. Brian Hetherington and Danielle Hodgkinson were first man and woman home for Wallsend, with Danielle taking third prize on the day - and the pair were chased home by some brilliant performances. A big well done to the lovely ladies and gentlemen of Green and Gold who represented the club at the Elswick Harriers Good Friday Relays at Newburn Riverside Business Park. In the women's event, Sarah Cawthorne, Emma Buckton and Jo Armstrong finished 17th, with Claire Carmichael and Sarah Fordham chasing them down in our second team. For the men, the team of Scott Boyd, Chris Smith, SImon Gibbs and Andy Graham finished 12th, and Steve Armstrong, Dave Collinson, Tony Maddocks and Barry Allsopp were 30th. Women's results here and men's results here PS Thanks to the North East Runner website whose pic of Sarah we nicked and where there's a report on the race here |
